VINCENT RAGUE, THE KENYAN TREASURY

Vincent Rague is currently Senior Financial Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance at the Kenyan Treasury. He is Co-Founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Catalyst Principal Partners. This was the keynote address for the 2012 Darden African Business Organization (DABO) Conference, which seeks to provide a forum for companies and individuals doing business in Africa to discuss their work and the growing business opportunities available on the continent.

Johnson, Administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), spoke at Darden on Thursday, February 2nd as a Leadership Speaker Series participant in conjunction with the Darden Business in Society Conference. Her talk was entitled "$95 Billion and Agile". Ms. Johnson works on the front lines of President Obama's agenda to build a more sustainable and effective government for the American people. The GSA is responsible for improving the government's workplace by managing assets, preserving historic property, delivering maximum value in acquisitions, and implementing technology solutions.

JAMES CHENG, VIRGINIA SECRETARY OF TRADE AND COMMERCE

The Honorable James Cheng, Secretary of Trade and Commerce for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and Darden alumnus of the Class of 1987, was the keynote speaker at at the 24th annual Black Business Student Forum (BBSF) Conference held at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business on February 10, 2012. The theme for this year's conference was "Manage the Future". Mr. Cheng discusses how to maintain an optimistic and realistic outlook while still upholding the responsibility to be honest with key stakeholders.

DEMAURICE SMITH, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, NFL PLAYERS ASSOCIATION.

"His job is to lead the NFL players...he sees his profession as a calling". On February 13th, 2012 Darden students, faculty and staff enjoyed a "fireside chat" with DeMaurice Smith, Executive Director of the National Football League Players Association. This Leadership Speaker Series event was co-sponsored by the Media, Entertainment and Sports Club and the Black Business Student Forum. Smith has earned numerous honors throughout his career, including the United States Attorney Generals' Award and the John Evans Trial Advocacy Award from the United States Attorney's Association. He is a 1989 alumnus of the UVA Law School.
